Card Sort - follow up activity for
The Case for Blended Learning video.

Category Headings

Card Sort Items (Cards to Sort)

Download, print, and prepare one Card Sort Activity for each table or
group of 3-5 teachers.


It is suggested that the category headings be printed on colored paper.

Ask teachers to work with group to determine which activities (cards) best fit under
each of the category headings.
Encourage discussion and recognize that some of the activities on the cards may
fit in more than one category.

Allow 15 minutes for groups to sort and discuss cards.

Discuss take-aways from this activity as a group. Debrief for approximately 5 minutes.

*Note that cards include some technology enabled activities and some traditional activities
that are meant to representative but not inclusive of typical activities seen in a DBL classroom.

Download and make one copy for each participant or upload to Google Docs and assign
in Google Classroom.
Contact your technology integration coach if you need assistance uploading and converting to
Google Doc format or setting sharing permissions.

Directions for activity are included in slides 5 and 7.

This activity takes approximately 15-20 minutes. (Deeper understanding of the definition of DBL)
Flip Flop SOS Strategy:

Print one copy for each teacher or have teacher complete the sentence on paper or an index
card using the directions on slide 8.

This activity takes approximately 5-10 minutes. (Individual refection on the definition of DBL)

SAMR Practice Activity - follow up activity for
Introduction to SAMR video.
Open the SAMR Practice Master Copy by clicking here.
(You must be signed into your CMCSS Google Apps Account to open and view.)
Go to File.
Choose Make a copy.
Rename the presentation. Example: School Name SAMR Practice
Click Share in the top right.
Click Get shareable link in top right corner.
Use drop down arrow to change permission to Anyone at CMCSS with the link can edit.
Copy the link.
Add the link to an announcement in your Google Classroom.

Contact your technology integration coach if you need assistance making a copy of the Google Slides
presentation, changing sharing permissions, or adding the announcement to your Google Classroom for your teachers.

This activity will take approximately 15 minutes.
*Remember that to move the text boxes teacher must be in edit mode, not in presentation mode.

Follow up with debrief to discuss the strategy (sort) and tool (Google Slides) used,
Focus on how and when the tool (Google Slides) might be used in the classroom, the SAMR level of the activity
the group just completed, and engagement, effectiveness, ownership.

For principal/presenter reference or preparation before having teachers complete the activity.

Principals may share the link with suggested answers for each of the slides in the practice activity with teachers after the activity is completed.
